The weekend of the 18th

Next weekend, on Saturday, my family is going to a huge mall about an hour and a half away.
My step mom decided that we'll just pick out our own christmas gifts, like clothes and stuff.
We're still getting a few things to open christmas morning but it'll be easier to be able to just pick out all of my own clothes for my gifts.

I'm excited for this weekend.
On Friday, I''m going to my friend's house to watch his band practice.
On Saturday, I'm going to my friend's birthday party. She's turning sixteen.
It's going to be a lot of fun.

My purse

I made a purse on Saturday and it turned out pretty good actually.
My friends have complimented on it. It's brown striped on the outside.
The strap, the inside, and the front pocket are a brownish red cordoroy.
I wish I would've made it a little bigger though.

My Thanksgiving weekend

Over my Thanksgiving weekend, I ate a ton of food...obviously.
After celebreating with dinner, I went to my grandma's house in South Elgin for the weekend.
On Friday, we went shopping at 5 in the morning.
I got a few things I'd been wanting and helped my grandma get some other christmas shopping done.
We helped put up the christmas decorations inside on Saturday.
Then, on Sunday, we sat around the house until about 5 and then headed home.

Stupid people at Lake Central

I hate pretty much at this school, Emily Mills feels the same way.
Immature girls make up lies about me following them down the hallway and harrassing them.
It's ridiculous and I hate everyone.

Emily and I

Emily Mills and I recently volunteered at the Calumet Area Humane Society.
We're going to go try and get money donations for animal food, bills, cages, and other stuff for the humane society.
It should be cool, and very good for the animals.

MattTully

Matt Tully is a good columnist.
He wrote a story about a boy who "didn't have an identity".
It was kind of crazy to me that the kid didn't know anything about himself really.

Fall Break

My fall break was pretty good.
I hung out with friends pretty much the whole time.
Halloween was fun because I went trick-or-treating and got a ton of candy.

Narritive.

Meg was so excited, she cried. Her mother had just informed her she was getting an slr camera.

It was her dream come true. Ever since Meg was about 10 years old, she's dreamed of becoming a photographer.

On her birthday, January 4th, her mom, Cate, gave her a small box. Meg opened the box and inside was a folded up piece of paper. She unfolded the paper somewhat confused.

Meg glanced at the picture printed on the paper and looked at Cate. Tears started forming in her eyes from extreme joy. The picture showed a Canon Rebel XT with the word "Coming soon!!!" written across it in thick silver letters. "I was so happy, I couldn't help but cry," Meg says.

About a month later, Meg's step dad, Ryan, came home with a cardboard box; Meg knew exactly what it was. She opened the box and took out her brand new Canon Rebel. Immediately she began snapping photos of her little sister, and things outside.

"Honestly, I've never been so happy in my life," she says.

October 14

So this weekend is going to be pretty busy.
I'm going to get some shirts at Target.
And I'm going to look at prices of laptops.

News Test

I think I did pretty well on my news test.
It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
Though, I think I did have some trouble with the written answer parts.

Interview story

So we just finished our interview stories and turned them in at turnitin.com.
I have a feeling I didn't do very well.
I don't understand the format for these news stories.
It's too confusing with all the different formatting.

First day with Journalism blog.

I'm sitting in journalism and VP told us we were making blogs.
So now I'm at a computer, typing this blog.
It's kind of weird because I don't really write stuff on my other blog.
So, this is the beginning of my sophmore year journalism blogging.
